You'll probably notice that these examples are works in various stages of progress, many showing little or no content. They were created during my time with a BIG PRODUCTION HOUSE where our quota was to have every site "go live" within 30 days of receiving the order.

Our main goal during a 30 minute "Discovery Consultation" was to learn as much about our client's small business as we could - and to beg for any available existing content they might have. Our very tight time line and the need to keep our product affordable didn't allow us to offer copy writing as a standard feature in the package.   We hoped for printed items such as brochures, newspaper articles, testimonials, etc. Typically, if we got anything at all, it was a snapshot of the front of their store.

Most of our clients were small business owners that knew they wanted a web site but didn't know where to start. So, instead of focusing on what they hoped to achieve with their new web site, we would ask them to talk a bit about their business, describe their typical customer and fill us in on why they do what they do.

I have chosen these designs because they show the personalities of each individual - all captured from those short conversations despite the uncomfortable time lines.
