First, this is my Marble Angel, my pride and joy. He was momma Angel's mate. I don't keep very good records of when I got these fish but I know he has got to be at least three years old. It is hard to tell his scale from these pictures, even with the five dollar bill there. He is about mid tank so perspective throws it off a little bit. Fin span is about 10 inches and his body is nearly 4 inches long and about 3 inches tall at my best estimate. | |
This
is my next largest and second oldest. It is a Zebra Lace and is about
6 inches tall (fin span). I got it as a baby along with a 4 others
hoping to find a mating pair in the bunch. Unfortunately the all of
the others died pretty quickly, but this one has done really well.In the picture with the big angel he looks larger because he is very close to the glass while the big one is near the back. |

This
is one of my newer additions that I added after getting a new bigger
tank (27 gal hex). It is a Zebra Pearlscale - notice the shiny, bumpy
scales - the pearl scale feature really makes her stand out among
the rest! |
|
My
youngest and smallest angel, the baby! I bought this one at the same
time as the pearl scale, there was just something about him that I
loved. I think it is the little tiny black dots that makes him look
like a leopard. |

Other fish share this tank with the angels. There are 2 plecostomus (plocostomi?) and 2 headlight/taillights. I also try to keep live plants growing but I have no idea what variety they are. |

Update 9/16/02 - The baby didn't make it. I have no idea what happened. Maybe jus the frailties of the breed. |

Our
newest hobby is keeping salt water fish. We are trying to replicate the
ocean environment as closely as possible with live rock.
You
won't find bleached coral skeletons in my tanks!
The
live rock is gathered from rubble fields so that it does little harm to
the delicate corals that are still growing on the reef.
The live rock provides the best natural biological filter, a place for cool things to grow (like the mushroom polyp above) and gives our fish (like our Picaso Triggerfish on the right) some really cool hiding places! Each fish actually has their own hiding place and gets pretty territorial over it - like little fishy apartments! 8-)
We
have several more fish in this tank but they were camera shy. We have
a Sea Anenome, a Lawnmower Blenny, 2 Damsels (one blue and one zebra),
a Brittle Starfish and several snails. The tank can hold a few more fish
but we are going slowly to make sure they do well.
